The Friends of the Jenin Freedom Theatre, the US based organization that has supported The Freedom Theatre in Jenin, Occupied Palestine since 2006 reports, with horror, that Israeli armed forces abducted Mustafa Sheta, The Freedom Theatre’s general manager, and Ahmed Tobasi, the theater’s artistic director, from inside their homes today, December 13, 2023. Tobasi’s brother Mohammed was also seized.

Poet and scholar Refaat Alareer has been killed by an Israeli airstrike.
The Palestinian poet, writer, literature professor, and activist Dr. Refaat Alareer was killed today in a targeted Israeli airstrike that also killed his brother, his sister, and four of her children. He is survived by his wife, Nusayba, and their children.

On Saturday, 2 December 2023, Israel bombed the neighborhood of Shuja’iyeh in Gaza City. The IDF Spokesperson declared that the goal was to kill Wissam Farhat, defining him as “the commander of Hamas’ Shuja’iyeh Battalion” who “led the battalion in Operation Protective Edge,” participated in planning attacks on Israelis, “took part in planning the ruthless attack in Israeli territory on 7 October, and sent the Nukhbah terrorists to the kibbutz and outpost of Nahal Oz that day.”
