1000 ancien·nes étudiant·es de Sciences Po pour la Palestine : « nous soutenons leur lutte »

Nous, ancien·nes étudiant·es de Sciences Po et de ses doubles diplômes, ressentons une impérieuse urgence à répondre à l’appel des étudiant·es de Sciences Po mobilisé·es pour la justice en Palestine : « Ne nous regardez pas. Rejoignez-nous. » Nous les soutenons dans leur lutte admirable contre l’inaction et le silence de notre Alma Mater face à ce que l’ONU qualifie de génocide à Gaza. Nous nous désolidarisons catégoriquement des alumni qui appellent à davantage de mesures disciplinaires et instrumentalisent la lutte contre l’antisémitisme.

Nous mobilisons aujourd’hui le réseau alumni pour protéger ces étudiant·es, qui sont de plus en plus réprimé·es, et pour soutenir leurs revendications : la condamnation officielle et sans équivoque des crimes de l’armée israélienne, l’ouverture d’une commission d’enquête éthique sur les partenariats de Sciences Po avec les universités pouvant jouer un rôle dans le génocide et l’apartheid, ainsi que l’amnistie totale du personnel, et des étudiant·es mobilisé·es dans tous les campus depuis octobre 2023. Nous appelons les alumni à nous rejoindre dans notre désengagement de tous types d’évènements directement liés à notre institution tant que ces demandes ne seront pas satisfaites. Enfin, nous invitons les avocat·es, diplomates, journalistes, professeur·es et tous ceux qui souhaitent soutenir et parrainer les étudiant·es mobilisé·es à nous contacter [adresses de contact en fin de tribune].

Nos actions sont la conséquence de l’absence de réactions de l’administration de Sciences Po aux multiples lettres. Dans un courrier du 26 mars resté sans réponse, 188 alumni dénonçaient déjà les accusations graves de “dérapages antisémites”, portées avant l’investigation, par le président de l’association Sciences Po Alumni, contre des étudiant·es ayant participé à la journée de mobilisation universitaire européenne pour la Palestine. Nous condamnons toute forme d’antisémitisme ainsi que son instrumentalisation, qui a par ailleurs été critiquée par des étudiant·es et alumni juif·ves car elle invisibilise les personnes juives qui luttent pour la justice en Palestine. Aucune considération n’a non plus été accordée à la pétition signée par plus de 300 alumni exprimant leur solidarité avec le mouvement étudiant, ni à la tribune de plus de 400 enseignant·es, doctorant·es et chercheur·euses de Sciences Po et du supérieur qui déplorent les méthodes répressives dont l’administration fait l’usage.

Nous condamnons fermement la position ambiguë de Sciences Po à l’égard du génocide en cours, et son refus de dénoncer l’armée israélienne pour ses crimes et son insoumission à la Cour Internationale de Justice. Nous n’avons aucune illusion quant au deux poids, deux mesures de l’école devant la guerre en Ukraine et le génocide à Gaza. En 2022, après avoir investigué les liens des universités russes partenaires de Sciences Po avec la guerre en Ukraine, l’administration a suspendu l’intégralité de ses accords de coopération universitaire en Russie. À l’inverse, aucune investigation n’a encore été faite sur les universités israéliennes partenaires de Sciences Po. Et ce, malgré le soutien des ces universités à l’armée israélienne, par exemple en fournissant “divers équipements logistiques à plusieurs unités militaires.” Il est dorénavant incontestable que Sciences Po cède à la pression du gouvernement français qui n’a pas imposé de sanctions contre Israël, au lieu de s’aligner sur les valeurs démocratiques, d’égalité et d’ouverture sur le monde qu’elle professe.

La mobilisation des étudiant·es ne représente pas une “minorité radicalisée,” “dangereuse” ou “islamo-gauchiste”, mais un mouvement universitaire mondial d’indignation devant l’irrespect flagrant du droit international ayant conduit à une catastrophe humanitaire, environnementale et matérielle à Gaza. Nous sommes profondément troublés de voir la situation des étudiant·es mobilisé·es, confronté·es au harcèlement, à la diffamation, ainsi qu’à l’intimidation et aux menaces inadmissibles de suspension de scolarité par l’administration.

Nous dénonçons l’appel de la police pour déloger les étudiant·es ayant organisé des sit-in pacifiques dans les locaux de l’école. Rappelons que ce type de blocage est loin d’être un phénomène nouveau à Sciences Po, et qu’il n’a jamais suscité de telles réactions. Nous demandons à l’administration de défendre publiquement ses étudiant·es face à l’agitation politico-médiatique insensée, qui a notamment paralysé la tenue d’un débat académique pendant des mois. Nous regrettons la nécessité de rappeler que défendre le droit international n’est pas un acte radical, mais la conclusion de notre éducation à Sciences Po.

Enfin, nous saluons le CERI, le Médialab et tous les professeur·es qui ont appelé à la protection des étudiant·es et de la liberté académique. Nous remercions les étudiant·es mobilisé·es pour leur engagement sans faille et tenons à leur dire: vous nous faites honneur. À l’image des étudiant·es engagé·es contre la guerre au Vietnam et contre l’apartheid en Afrique du Sud qui étaient tout aussi réprimé·es en leur temps, l’Histoire vous donnera raison. À tous ceux qui les diabolisent : ce n’est pas uniquement des étudiant·es que vous attaquez, ni simplement la Cour Internationale de Justice ou l’ONU, mais la conscience humaine.
