Prof Hennie Strydom unpacks case brought by SA against Israel at International Court of Justice

Interview with Hennie Strydom, president of SABILA and professor at the University of Johannesburg on the subject of the ICJ referral against Israel.

The US has dismissed South Africa’s case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over the war in Gaza. South Africa argues that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza in the case filed at the ICJ last week. White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby says the US considers the case meritless, counterproductive and completely without any basis in fact whatsoever. Israel has rejected South Africa’s genocide allegation, terming it baseless and blood libel. Meanwhile… The International Court of Justice has announced in a statement that it will hold public hearings on the request for provisional measures submitted by South Africa.

International Law Professor at the University of Johannesburg, Hennie Strydom joins us to unpack the case brought by South Africa against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
