Sixteen organisations from around the world, all supporting the academic and cultural boycott of Israel, have written a letter condemning the Israeli government’s harassment of the co-founder of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement Omar Barghouti. The letter is being sent to the Foreign Ministers of Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, India, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Pakistan, Sweden, United Kingdom, and United States.
On 4 Mai 2016, AURDIP, BACBI and BRICUP have written to the European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation drawing his attention to the renewed detention of Imad Barghouthi, Professor of Theoretical Space Plasma Physics at Al-Quds University in East Jerusalem, and calling upon him to request the suspension of the EU Association Agreement until Israel releases Professor Barghouthi. The letter is set out below.
