Since October 7th, the Gaza Strip has been the epicenter of the Israeli genocide war. This term gravely underscores the intensity and the deliberate targeting of civilians in this genocide war. This war, unfolding over 80 days, has not only been marked by its brutality but also by its catastrophic human toll.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the principal judicial organ of the United Nations, holds public hearings on the request for the indication of provisional measures submitted by South Africa in the case South Africa v. Israel.
On 11 and 12 January 2024, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) —the judicial organ of the United Nations—will hold public hearings in its seat in The Hague with regards to the proceedings instituted by South Africa against Israel on 29 December 2023 (Proceedings against Israel concerning alleged violations by Israel of its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (the “Genocide Convention”) in relation to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip).
